Terms of Use

Welcome to As Shot. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Parallax Technologies LLC ("we", "our", or "us") for the As Shot iOS app. By downloading or using As Shot, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. License and Apple's EULA
As Shot is licensed to you, not sold, subject to these Terms and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA): apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. If these Terms and Apple's EULA conflict, Apple's EULA applies to the extent required. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it.
2. The App
As Shot helps you take a photo for a passport, visa or other identity document with your iPhone. It includes:
- The published photo rules for the supported documents, with the official source and the date we read it
- Measurement of the photo against those rules while you take it, on your device
- The camera file exactly as your iPhone made it, and, where a document needs one, a digital file that is only cropped and sized to that document's rules
- A 4 x 6 in print sheet as JPEG and PDF, for printing at home or at a photo service
As Shot never edits your face or background: no retouching, no background replacement, no color or light correction. The list of supported countries and documents is shown in the app and may change over time.
3. No Guarantee of Acceptance
The agency you apply to makes the final decision on your photo. As Shot is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any government or agency. We base the rules in the app on official sources and show where each rule comes from, but agencies can change their rules, apply them differently, or judge things the app cannot measure, such as expression, glare, focus or print quality. Some thresholds in the app are our own and are shown as ours. We do not guarantee that a photo made with As Shot will be accepted. Before you apply, check the current official rules for your document.
4. One-Time Purchase
Measuring is free. Getting your files and print sheets requires a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase through Apple. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
- Price. The price is shown in the app and on the App Store before you confirm, and may vary by country or region.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- What it unlocks. Every file and print sheet, for every supported document, for any photo you take in the app, on devices signed in to the Apple Account that bought it.
- Restore. You can restore the purchase on another device signed in to the same Apple Account with Restore purchase in Settings.
- Family Sharing. The purchase is not shared through Apple's Family Sharing. It applies to the Apple Account that bought it.
- Refunds. Payments are handled by Apple. We cannot issue refunds directly; refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple's policies, except where the law gives you other rights.
5. Your Responsibilities
- Only photograph people who agree to it. If you photograph a child, you must be their parent or guardian or have their permission.
- Use the files only for genuine applications and lawful purposes. Do not use the app to make a document photo for anyone's identity other than the person photographed, or to mislead an agency.
- Check the official rules and the files before you submit them.
6. Your Photos
Your photos and files are yours. They are made and kept on your device, and we do not receive them or claim any rights to them.
The app, its design, its rule data and its text are owned by Parallax Technologies LLC or its licensors.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, to get around the purchase, or to interfere with the app or our website.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what As Shot handles on your device, what leaves it, and the choices you have.
9. Third-Party Services
The app relies on Apple's platform and on the service providers listed in the Privacy Policy. Their availability is outside our control. Your use of the App Store is governed by Apple's terms. When you share or print a file, the app or printer you choose handles it under its own terms.
10. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT ITS RULES ARE COMPLETE OR UP TO DATE FOR YOUR APPLICATION, OR THAT ANY PHOTO WILL BE ACCEPTED BY ANY AGENCY.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PARALLAX TECHNOLOGIES LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING A REJECTED PHOTO OR APPLICATION, DELAYS, TRAVEL COSTS, OR LOSS OF DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP'S PURCHASE. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS RIGHTS YOU HAVE UNDER CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED.
12. Changes and Termination
We may update or discontinue the app or any feature, including the list of supported documents. We may update these Terms; we will change the "Last Updated" date and tell you in the app about material changes. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. You can stop using As Shot at any time by deleting the app.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless the consumer laws of your country give you the right to bring proceedings where you live.
