As Shot Support
Last Updated: October 28, 2026
As Shot takes your passport, visa or ID photo with your iPhone camera and measures it against the published rules for your document while you take it. You get the photo file exactly as the camera made it, never retouched, plus files that are only cropped and sized for the document, and a 4 x 6 in print sheet. Measuring is free; the files are a one-time purchase. Your photos stay on your iPhone.
Supported in this version: US passport, US visa, US Green Card, US Diversity Visa lottery, UK passport, Japanese passport and Taiwan passport. Requires iOS 17 or later on iPhone.

Questions
My photo was rejected. What should I do?
The agency you apply to makes the final decision, and some things cannot be measured by a camera, such as glare on glasses, focus, expression or print quality. Read the reason in the rejection message first. Then take the photo again: stand about two steps from the camera rather than taking a selfie at arm's length, face an even light with no shadow on one side of the face or on the background, keep a neutral expression with eyes open, and remove glasses. Use the result screen to see each check before you get the files. As Shot never edits your face or background, so a photo that was rejected for lighting or background has to be retaken, not fixed. If you believe the app measured something wrong, email us with the document and the rejection reason and we will look at it.
How do I print at 4 x 6?
Use the print sheet on the files screen. It is a 4 x 6 in page (10 x 15 cm) at 300 dpi, as a JPEG for photo services and a PDF for AirPrint. Print it at 100% or actual size, with no "fit", "fill" or crop option, on 4 x 6 photo paper. At a photo kiosk or pharmacy, order a standard 4 x 6 print from the JPEG without cropping. Check the 10 mm ruler on the sheet with a real ruler: if it is not 10 mm, the printer scaled the page. Note for the UK: the UK rule says a printed photo must not be cut from a larger photo, so for a UK paper application a cut-out from this sheet may not be accepted. The app shows this warning on the files screen.
My country or document is not in the list
As Shot only shows rules it could read from an official source. This version covers the US (passport, visa, Green Card, Diversity Visa lottery), the UK passport, the Japanese passport and the Taiwan passport. Canada requires a photo taken in person by a commercial photographer, and Germany and France accept passport and ID photos only from the office, an approved photographer or a certified provider, so the app does not offer them. Other countries, including Australia, are not supported in this version. Tell us which document you need; requests help us decide what to add next.
A document says "Temporarily unavailable while we update this rule"
When an agency changes its photo rules, we switch that document off until the app has the new rule, so you never measure against an outdated one. Check back after the next app update.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings in As Shot and tap Restore purchase. Use the same Apple Account that made the purchase. The purchase is not shared through Family Sharing, so it only restores on the Apple Account that bought it. If a purchase was made with Ask to Buy, the files open once it is approved.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are processed by Apple, and we cannot issue refunds ourselves. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Do my photos leave my iPhone?
No. Photos are taken, measured and turned into files on your iPhone, and the app keeps no library of them. They go somewhere else only when you save, share or print them yourself. See the Privacy Policy for what the app does send: anonymous usage events and crash reports, never photos or face measurements.
How do I turn off analytics or crash reports?
Open Settings in As Shot. Under Privacy, switch off Share anonymous usage data, Send crash reports, or both. You can change them at any time.
